It is likely that Aavin’s Fermented products division worth Rs 9.18 crore at Ambattur dairy complex will get wrapped up in August. With this, it will be possible for Aavin to produce 68,000 litres every day. It is now 7,500 litres per day.

Nearly 80 percent of the work is done. Here, curd, lassi, probiotic curds and yoghurt, buttermilk, etc will be manufactured, says sources from the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation which is commonly called Aavin. However, lassi will get produced in the Salem diary and come in food-safe cardboard packs.

Recently, expansion of ice cream dairy at Ambattur and introduction of many flavors and variants was made.

On observing these moves, it is evident that the federation is ardent about strengthening its division manufacturing fermented products which can process about 28,000 litres every day.

More produces

Earlier, the production was limited due to which the availability was less to. However, Aavin has now raised its number of points selling products, especially ice cream. Four hundred new such points selling these products are identified where these products will be made available, according to sources.

It has been 2 decades since the Aavin buttermilk was introduced. Curds were introduced in 2001 in 200 ml packs and the masala buttermilk was introduced in 2011.

These dairy products will be used for preparing gulab jamun, chocolates, peda, khovva, mysorepa, etc for festivals.
