Tamil Nadu government on Monday appointed 5 government advocates for Chennai high court. STS Murthi, S Manishankar and V Ayyathurai were appointed as new additional advocates-general for Chennai high court in the place of three others who had resigned last week.
P. Pugalenthi has been appointed as new additional advocate-general of Madurai Bench-Chennai High Court. M K Subramanian has been appointed as government pleader.
Manishankar was a key member of the chief minister Jayalalithaa`s defense team in the disproportionate wealth case against her. Pugalenthi appeared for the famous granite case in Chennai High Court. Murthi served as special government pleader from 2001 to 2005 and was reappointed in 2011. He was appointed as the government pleader of Chennai high court in 2013.
