14 types of welfare schemes of the Tamil Nadu State Government are given in all the government and government-aided schools. Lots of complaints have been received regarding the misuse and malpractices of these schemes.

In order to prevent this misuse, the central government has introduced a new Education Management Information system called ‘EMIS’ (Education Management Information System).

As per this, the data of the students from 1st standard to 12th Standard, including name, address, names of parents, the name of the school, name of the school previously studied, along with the Blood Group and Aadhar card number should be registered in the District EMIS Computer system.

The Chief Secretary of the Department of Education, Sabitha, conducted a video conference on this issue with the education officers in all districts.

The Education Directorate officials informed that the collection of Aadhar Card numbers from the students should be completed by the teachers before 7th August.
