Today (Monday, 22nd August) is the 378th birthday of the Tamil Nadu States capital, Chennai. The city of Chennai was founded on 22nd August 1639.
Later, the name of the city was changed as Madras.Presently, it is named Chennai.
The birthday of the Chennai city is being celebrated from the year 2004 onwards.
As a part of the celebrations, a number of competitions and events are being organized.
As the city’s birthday celebrations have increasingly become popular, Chennai, Birthday Celebrations are extended till the month of September.
