It is decided that the employees working with the State Transport Corporation of Tamil Nadu will be given only with Rs 3000 as cash.

Following the demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes by the centre early this month, people are thronging in to ATM centres and banks to withdraw cash. There are restrictions with cash withdrawal at banks too.

Amidst these, the employees working with the state transport corporation have stated that it will be difficult for them to withdraw cash from ATMs or banks amidst busy work hours. Hence, they have pleaded to the government to pay them with November salary as cash. Following this, it is decided that the November salary for drivers, conductors and other employees working with the state transport corporation will receive Rs 3000 as cash and not the entire salary.

Under the Viluppuram government transport corporation, there are over 6000 employees. Starting from 2005-06, these employees are paid with their monthly salary directly to their bank account. All these 6000 individuals will be given with Rs 3000 out of their entire salary amount as cash on 30th November, and the remaining will be credited to their bank account.
