Maintenance work in the Nemmeli desalination plant

As maintenance work is being undertaken in the Nemmeli desalination plant, Chennai MWSSB has informed that the drinking water supply distribution to certain parts in South Chennai may be affected.

The desalination plant in Nemmeli produces 100 million litres of drinking water daily. Some important maintenance works are to be undertaken in this plant.
Because of this, there are possibilities of drinking water supply being affected between 9.00 AM and 9.00 PM today (Friday, 9th June) in the South Chennai areas such as Thiruvanmiyur, Kottivakkam, Palavakkam, Perungudi, Adyar, Velachery, Besant Nagar, Sholinganallur, East Coast Road, and Neelankarai.
So, the resident citizens of the above areas are advised to store sufficient drinking water.
