Bills can be paid today at the EB payment centres

The proposal that every 4th Saturday will be a holiday for the EB employees comes into effect only from the next month. Hence, it is announced that the EB bill payment centres will be open today. Presently, the 2nd Saturday of each month is a holiday for the EB employees. All other Saturdays are working days.
As the 4th Saturday of the month is a holiday for the banks, it is not possible to deposit the revenue collected on the EB bill payment. So, the state minister for electricity, Thangamani, has announced that the 4th Saturday of each month will be a holiday for the EB employees. However, the EB bill payment centres will be open today.
An EB official explained in this regard that the official announcement regarding the recent salary revision for the EB employees will be announced in a day or two. Only after this, the new proposal for the 4th Saturday of each month as a holiday for the EB employees will come into effect.
So, the EB bill payment centres will be open today (Saturday, 24th February) from 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM.
As the 4th Saturday of each month is proposed to be a holiday, the payment counters will be open till 5.15 PM (extra 15 minutes) from 1st March.
