With the Tamil Nadu Express Transport Corporation functioning with Chennai as its headquarters, until the present times, all the long distance buses operating to Madurai, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Thhothukudi, Thiruvananthapuram, Salem, Coimbatore and Thanjavur start from the Koyamedu MGR Bus terminus and travel via Vadapalani, Ashok Pillar, Alandur, Chromepet and Tambaram.

During this period, in all the interior routes throughout the Chennai Metro City, Chennai Metro Rail Project was in progress at various stages and hence the TNSTC long-distance buses had to operate via the outer Maduravoyil Road as per the Police instructions.

Presently, the construction of the Metro Rail Project has been completed in the section between Koyambedu and Chennai Airport.

Subsequently, since last month, all the long-distance buses operated by TNSTC (except the Premier and the Highway-Rider buses) ) will operate starting from Koyambedu MGR bus terminus and proceed via Vadapalani, Ashok Pillar, Alandur, Chromepet, and Tambaram.

This information has been notified released by the Managing Director’s office of TNSTC.
