Free eyeglasses for the school kids of Chennai, handed over by Australian trade team

Many underprivileged school children having vision issues find difficulty in continuing their studies. The latest news is on Tuesday, 27th August 2019 students of Chennai Higher Secondary School of Maduvankarai were given free eye glasses. It is worthy to mention that the free eyeglasses were distributed to these school students by IVI or Indian Vision Institute.

Mr. Stephan Bali, Australia`s Black Town City Mayor is now in Chennai for a trade delegation purpose is known. He appreciated the IVI project for helping the under privileged school kids with vision problems for continuing their education. Information is more than 120 students were given free eyeglasses on Tuesday by the Australian trade team.

It is important to mention that IVI receives grants from Australia through Direct Aid Programme and by this more than 50,000 students all over India were screened. This was done by organizing 550 vision screening programmes in and around Chennai city plus in other states of India.
