In Chennai city, there are many persons who are suspected to be infected with Covid-19. To track these persons, Chennai police are now given masks and protective suits.
At each police station, 3 police personnel would be wearing the new suits and masks and they would be attending the distress calls of the residents. There are few who have broken the prescribed quarantine time period and it is now said that the police personnel would help the health department personnel to trace them.
It is important to mention here that the Chennai city police came out with this move just a few hours after the state government had requested the police to help the health officials track those who have come out of their houses despite asked to stay at home quarantines. The important information is the government might even cancel the passports of those who have come out of their home quarantines.
Later, a police officer highlighted that they were not sure about the new protective gear protecting them against the Coronavirus attack. He added that the new gear would be used as a precautionary step if the police personnel was forced to interact with the Corona virus-infected persons. Some of the features of this new protective gear are all body covering suit, head cap, mask, and glove.
One sub-inspector and two constables in each police station would be trained to handle the suspected Covid-19 victims. It was revealed by an official data that now there are 9000 people in home-based quarantines in the state of TN.
