The government of the United States of America has planned to cancel the present procedure of issuing H1B Visas by the computerised random draw for the employees/workers from other countries.

In a notification released in the American Journal by the USA Department of National Safety/Protection, it is mentioned:

“It is planned to cancel the present system of the computerized draw to select and issue H1B for the employees/workers from the foreign countries.

Instead, a newly revised system would be adopted based on the annual income drawn by the applicants for H1B Visa.

By this revision in the procedure for issuing H1B Visas for the foreign workers/employees, it is largely expected that present the trend of employing foreign citizens at lower annual salaries, thus the issue of depriving the opportunities of the USA natives may get solved.

With the above-revised procedure, the present 3 categories of the job applicants, H1B employees, and the USA employees are expected to be provided with equal opportunities.”

It is mentioned in the notification that the concerned groups must respond regarding the proposed revised procedure for the issue of H1B Visas with their observations/suggestions within the next 30 days.

It may be noted at this juncture that H1B Visas are availed mostly Indian employees who prefer to work in the USA.

Though this category of Indians in the USA cannot obtain citizenship of the USA, they can stay and work in the USA.

Information gathered reveals that in case the above-proposed system comes into effect, it is expected that priority will be given to those candidates with the largest annual salaries.
