For this deepavali festival, as many as 13.24lakhs travelled in 28360 STC buses in TN

Just recently, the festival of diwali was celebrated in TN and it is now revealed that as many as 13.24 lakhs of people have travelled to their native places in 28360 buses operated by the state transport corporation or STC. Special buses were operated by the STC and this is in addition to the normal daily services that were operated to various places in TN from Chennai city and from other places. This was according to an official release.

It has been mentioned that from 11th November about 8753 buses were operated from as many as 6 locations in Chennai and over 3.97lakhs travelled to their natives. The release added that in other places 4564 were operated and these buses transported 2.28lakhs passengers. It is clear that a total of 6.25lakh passengers travelled in 13317 STC buses for deepavali. The STC had operated 15043 buses in TN to transport 6,99lakh passengers for their back journey trip.

From various parts of TN to the Chennai city, as many as 10414 buses were operated after deepavali from 15th November t 18th November and 4.68lakhs travelled in these buses to Chennai. It was pointed out by the release from STC that the corporation had earned a revenue of Rs 5.84 crores through booking of tickets by 1.21lakh passengers.
