At Kathipara in Chennai, a New Multi Modal Urban Square to come up, people to get benefited

Don’t be surprised when you come across multi-modal urban square with many facilities like bus bays, parking lots plus eateries at Kathipara junction in the future.
It is now revealed that the work was taken up at a cost of Rs 14 crores to develop the square here and it would be spread around 55000 sq kms. The work has been going on in full flow now and it will be thrown open to the public by May month end. This was mentioned by a few officers belonging to CMRL Sounds Incredible right!!
The main aim behind this new multi-modal hub would be to attract more passengers to use Alandur metro station. It is known that Alandur metro station is the largest elevated station linking the 2 stretches of phase-1 project with 2 levels. Information collected is that the square would have many facilities such as parking lot, food stalls plus ATM, kid play area and kiosks etc. In addition, MTC buses would stop in the square. A pathway would be made to connect this Kathipara Urban Square and Alandur metro station for the sake of the public.
Around this space, there would be a lot of landscaping and this was also mentioned by the official. It is learnt that the footfall at the station would be more when thrown open to the public. The public could use the space for eating or for shopping etc when it is open. To provide the last mile connectivity from this square to their neighbourhood localities, CMRL is planning last mile connectivity now.
