Joggers, walkers and visitors at the beaches in Chennai could feel happy now!!
From 1st of February 2022, all beaches in Chennai would once again be opened for the public. This was announced by the Chennai Corporation on Sunday. It is known to us that the beaches in Chennai were closed due to the rise in the number of Coronavirus and omicron cases in January.
As the cases have gone down now, the TN government has lifted many restrictions and the beaches would be opened for the joggers, walkers and visitors etc. The TN government has explicitly not prohibited the beaches and it was decided by a senior GCC officer along with the police commissioner of Chennai to open the beaches once again for the public.
The Covid19 cases have not declined totally yet and police personnel as well as GCC officers would jointly monitor the social distancing norms etc in the beaches. It was brought out by GCC that there would not be crowding and wearing facemasks would be compulsory. Various other precautionary steps would be in place in the beaches in Chennai. The Tamil Nadu government has already announced that all places of worship like temples, churches and mosques etc plus the educational institutions would be reopened.
