Great news for suburban train passengers: More trains to be operated on this route!!

Though 300 electric trains are operated daily on the route Chennai Beach-Tambaram-Chengalpattu, the trains are heavily crowded in the morning and evening sessions of the peak in traffic.

The Office-going citizens, students of schools and colleges, and labourers travel more on this route of suburban electric trains.

Presently, the laying of the 3rd Railway track in the section Tambaram-Chengalpattu. Electric trains were operated at 80 kmph speed on this route and now, they are being operated at 100 kmph speed!

With this increased speed of operations, the issue of delays gest solved. The delay is mainly due to an extra crowd of passengers in the morning and evenings.

Especially during the times when long-distance trains from the southern districts of Tamil Nadu reach Chennai, delays are caused in the services of the Chennai Metro City`s electric train services!

With the third track being completed in the section Tambaram-Chengalpattu, the above issue of time delay due to other long-distance trains will be completely solved!

In this situation, as the speed of the trains operating on the new 3rd track has been increased, the passengers can reach their destinations faster.

As the increase in speed will provide the time gaps, the Department of Railways has planned to operate more electric trains.

The officials shared that an increase in the number of train services will be beneficial to the passengers!

In this regard, the member of the Passengers Welfare Association, Pandiyaraja, observed, "It is great to welcome news for the passengers that the speed of the electric suburban service trains is being increased!  The time of being in the congestion of passenger crowd will reduce! Further, additional 3-to-4 trains are operated in the section Chengalpattu-Tambaram from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM! Presently, a sufficient number of trains are NOT being operated in this route!"
