Department of Traffic Police: Penalty of Rs. 23.25 Crores collected in the last 6 months!

A total of Rs. 23.25 Crores has been collected through the Call Centres of the Department of Traffic Police in Chennai Metro City in the last 6 months!
Chennai Metro City Traffic Police Department has installed a system of reporting the violation of traffic rules for the vehicle driver to be detected and informed the concerned traffic violation offender through the Call Centre by phone calls to pay the penalty WITHIN 1 WEEK!
It is now informed that through this traffic violation monitoring and reporting system, a penalty for traffic rule violation has been recorded in 385068 cases and a total penalty of Rs. 60145160/- has been collected!
The offence of Drunken Driving is charged a penalty of Rs. 10000/-! In this, for a total of 6108 cases, a penalty of Rs. 60766000/- has been collected!
Through this system, a penalty of Rs. 76535160/- has been collected for the 388856 old cases and a penalty of Rs. 155975421/- has been collected for the new 531687 cases!
As such, a total penalty of Rs. 252510581/- has been collected from 918573 cases in the last 6 months by the Chennai Metro City Department of Traffic Police!
