In this situation, to catch the thieves who are present in the crowds, the police department would be catching them red handed with the help of facial recognition cameras. The drones have been equipped with cameras and the surveillance has been intensified now by the police department.
Now, there is heavy crowding seen in places like T. Nagar, Pondy Bazaar, Purasawalkam, Mylapore, Flower Bazaar, Thiruvanmiyur, Washermanpet, Koyambedu and Perambur etc for buying new things for the deepavali festival. From small shops to big shops, people throng in huge numbers now for purchasing many items like clothes, household articles etc. Many thieves would be taking advantage of the crowds to steal the things from the people.
Now,. crowd control and crime prevention procedures would be followed by the Chennai police personnel to catch the thieves. It must be noted that various shops plus in places where people would crowd have been identified and police personnel from law and order, crime, traffic, armed forces, TNSPF and home guards would be engaged in the surveillance and security works. In addition to the already present CCTV cameras new CCTV cameras are being installed now. Temporary observation towers have also been set up now.
