Government Tourism Fair at Island Grounds - scheduled during Half-yearly vacation: Preparatory works in full swing!

It is a decades-old organized event to conduct the Tourism Fair at Chennai Metro City Island Grounds every year by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Corporation!
The last time the Tourism Fair was conducted was in the year 2019!
Due to the impact of the raging coronavirus pandemic, this Tourism Fair was NOT conducted in the last 2 years – 2020 & 2021!
The Tamil Nadu Tourism Corporation has already started making all preparations to conduct the Tourism Fair this year – 2022!
It is planned to conduct this Tourism Fair at Island Grounds for 60 Days!
The Entrance to the Tourism Fair will be designed to reflect Tamil culture and tradition!
The permission for the Entrance is obtained from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu Tourism Corporation is determined that the entrance should be a glorious display winning great appreciation from one and all!!
Apart from the normal regular entertainment venues, it is being reviewed and planned to set up new sports arrangements and equipment to attract the kids!
Children`s Train, Giant Wheel, etc., are to be set up as entertainment spots!
Conditions are favourable and as such there are strong prospects that this year`s Tourism Fair will commence without any delay!
The Fair will be open during Christmas, New Year and the half-yearly Vacation Period!
Arrangements are being made to commence the Tourism Fair between 25th & 30th December!
The Department of Tamil Nadu Tourism has planned to invite the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to inaugurate this Tourism Fair!
Once the tender is finalized, the activity of setting up the stalls will commence. Information is gathered from the reliable concerned circle that the levelling of the Island Grounds will be taken up from the 1st week of December!
