What has been making the lives of many passengers difficult at the Tambaram railway station?

The elderly as well as differently abled people have been facing many issues now at the Tambaram railway station. The reason for that was due to the non-functional escalators. These people depend a lot on the escalators is known. After getting down from the trains, the public are forced to walk on the stairs.
What is happening at Tambaram railway station these days is that while the elders etc gather patience to climb the non-functional escalator and go to the western side of the Tambaram railway station but youngsters go to the other side by crossing the railway track.
It was brought to light by a regular commuter that to go to the western side escalators usually play a huge role. He added that non-functional escalators pose many issues for the public.
It was later explained by an officer belonging to the railways dept that the Tambaram railway officials have been informed about this issue and ensured that all escalators were functioning well. He shed light on how Tambaram railway station was a major station with lots of footfalls and issues would get rectified swiftly. It is noteworthy that the escalators are reported non-functional when the passengers unknowingly press the emergency stop button present at the side.
