There will be another place available for the residents of Mint and surrounding localities in the north Chennai now to spend their mornings and evenings peacefully and breathe fresh air etc.
By the April month, a new park will be opened here for the public. Under the flyover at Mint at a cost of Rs 5 cr, a park is being constructed under the Singara Chennai 2.0 scheme. There would be several facilities present in this park like walkers path, area for senior citizens, open air gym, yoga facilities, sculptures and art work, toilets, parking space etc.
In the memory of their loved ones, a total of 1000 saplings have been planted in the park by the local people here. The park would be maintained by GCC. To increase the beauty of Chennai, the GCC parks department has established 786 parks for the public. Out of a total of 786 parks, as many as 584 parks are being maintained by the private companies.
