As part of the ongoing efforts to upgrade Chennai Central Railway Station to international standards, measures have been taken to make the station a quieter place. In line with the directives of the General Manager of Southern Railway, a notification was issued two days ago to make Chennai Central Railway Station (Revolutionary Leader Dr MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station) a quiet station.

The railway administration has advised that there should be no audio announcements at the railway station. Instead, train-related information will be displayed on screens, and sufficient counters will be provided to offer information to passengers. The move to discontinue audio announcements is expected to significantly reduce noise levels at the station, ensuring a more peaceful environment for passengers and staff.

These measures are part of the larger effort to bring Chennai Central Railway Station up to international standards. The railway authorities hope that these changes will help create a more comfortable and convenient experience for passengers using this busy transportation hub.
