To provide a scientific traffic management and arrive at better transport strategies, CUMTA or Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority has purchased 2 advanced softwares. The silent neighbourhoods of Chennai have been converted into traffic nightmares due to the long term diversions introduced for the metro rail work, Many motorists etc have been finding lots of problems with this is known.
The traffic was diverted for the sake of metro rail works on the TTK Road and Chamiers Road in Chennai and due to this Alwarpet is now full of buses and other heavy vehicles etc. In the busy T. Nagar also, many major roads have been converted into one-way stretches leading to lots of chaos in other roads. It is known that CMRL is trying to expand its operations across Chennai soon. Many flyovers would be built and there would be more traffic diversions too. It was brought out by some experts that these traffic diversions must be planned scientifically but not be based on the feedbacks from the traffic police personnel.
