To enhance convenience and reduce footfall at Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), the Transport Department has given the green light for the implementation of 42 new contactless services. These services aim to provide hassle-free experiences to citizens by allowing them to access various RTO-related services online.

The newly approved 42 services will complement the existing six contactless services already available. Citizens will now have the option to complete tasks related to driving licenses, conductor licenses, vehicle registrations, and permits without the need to physically visit the RTO.

Out of the proposed 42 services, 22 will be focused on drivers and conductor licenses, while the remaining services will revolve around motor vehicles and permits. The additional contactless services include convenient features such as change of address, name, photo, and signature in learner`s licenses, issuance of duplicate driving licenses, biometric updates, and modifications of date of birth in driving licenses.

Furthermore, citizens will be able to avail services such as issuance of duplicate learner`s licenses and driving licenses, international driving permit issuance, and renewal of conductor licenses through the online platform. Other services that will be made available online include temporary registration of motor vehicles, application for duplicate registration certificates (RC), grant of No Objection Certificates (NOC) for RC, change of address in RC, issuance of fresh permits, duplicate permits, and permit transfers.

The government`s decision to introduce these contactless services comes after Transport Minister SS Sivasankar`s announcement in the Assembly. The Minister emphasized the utilization of Aadhaar as an identification proof for availing these services. This initiative aims to bring transparency, convenience, and seamlessness to the application process, enabling citizens to complete their tasks conveniently and efficiently.

By leveraging technology and the Aadhaar system, the Transport Department intends to provide doorstep services, reducing the need for physical visits to RTOs. This strategic move aims to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and ensure citizens can accomplish their RTO-related tasks with ease.

As these new contactless services are rolled out, citizens can expect greater convenience, time savings, and a simplified experience when dealing with RTO matters. The Transport Department remains committed to leveraging technology for the benefit of citizens and looks forward to providing efficient and user-friendly services through the online platform.

For further updates and detailed information on the new contactless services, citizens are advised to visit the official Transport Department website or reach out to their local RTOs.
