Beginning of cement road laying works in Chennai by GCC in areas damaged by heavy vehicles!!

In those residential places where the roads have been damaged by heavy vehicles, GCC would be constructing cement roads.
By his decision from GCC, resident places with dense traffic of heavy transport vehicles near dumpyards, garbage transfer stations and major factories would benefit. It is now said that those damaged stretches near hospitals, schools, colleges etc would be repaieed soon.
It must be recalled that a few years back GCC laid cement roads in flood prone places like Velachery etc. Information gathered is that the 700m stretch of Velachery Main Road received a concrete topping.
As per an officer from GCC, a stretch of 710m of Corporation Road in Perungudi zone has been identified now for cement laying works. He hinted that the work has started already and it would get over in another 6 months. It is known that the residents have been protesting against poor road conditions here. In the dumpyard at Perungudi, the GCC would construct a 2km cement road. To complain about roads, the residents could contact helpline 1913. It is now brought out that GCC would start work on laying cement roads in other places after looking into the complaints.
