Chennai ICF gets the sensational Best Project in India award for its huge efforts!!

Ever since the year 1955, the Integral Coach Factory or ICF located at Perambur in Chennai has been manufacturing railway coaches. It is really superb to note that ICF has been responsible for the manufacture of 71000 plus railway coaches till now. Now, ICF has been concentrating in the manufacture of Vande Bharat or VB coaches and in 2018 the first VB coach was manufactured at ICF. The first VB train started to operate between Delhi and Varanasi in 2019 is well known to us.
On major rail routes across India, now more than 25 VB trains are being operated. The increased passenger demand has made the railways dept to increase the production of VB rail coaches. For the FY 2023-24, as manya s 736 VB trains have been planned to be produced by ICF in Chennai.
The news is that in the category of India`s first high speed rail project under the Vande Bharat train project the award for the `Best Project in the Country` has been awarded to Chennai based ICF. The Project Management Institute of India has given the award now to ICF in Chennai. It is learnt that on 21st of August a ceremony took place and GM of ICF Mr.PG. Mallya received the award from NITI Aayog director Mr. Vijay Kumar.
