Navarathri festival started now in the Chennai temples!!

The Navarathiri festival has commenced in a grand manner in the temples now in Chennai.
It must be noted that TN Governor Ravi visited the famous Besant Nagar based Ashtalakshmi temple to have darshan.
Why is the Navarathri festival celebrated?
For removing all the evil things and for establishing the principles of dharma through the worship of Goddess Shakthi, Navarathri festival is being celebrated. Information collected is that Goddesses like Lakshmi, Saraswathi and Durga took incarnation as Goddess Mahishasuramardhini and killed the demon Mahishan.
The festival of Navarathri is being celebrated from 15th of October to 24th of October for 9 days this year. Special pujas are being held in the temples in both mornings and in the evenings.
At the famous Murugan temple in Vadapalani in Chennai a grand kolu has been kept now for the public. Every day, special puja and deeparadhana is being held at the amman sannidhi. There would be sahasranama recitation, veda recitation and thirumpi recitation etc.
Kolu time:
In the Vadapalani temple, Kolu viewing time would be from 6:30am to 12:30 pm and from 4:30 pm in the evening to 9pm in the night.
In the same manner, Vavarathri festival started in many other famous temples in Chennai like Thiruvottiyur Vadivudai amman temple, George Town based Kalikambal temple, Mylapore based Mundakanni amman temple etc.
