Southern Railway Announces EMU Train Cancellations for Maintenance Work on Chennai Egmore-Villupuram Section

The Southern Railway has released a statement detailing the cancellation of several Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) trains to facilitate essential maintenance work on the Chennai Egmore-Villupuram section at Tambaram yard. This maintenance will take place during two scheduled periods, affecting train services from October 19 to 21 and again from October 26 to November 4.
The statement from Southern Railway explains that the cancellations are necessary to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance operations in the Chennai Egmore-Villupuram section at Tambaram yard, involving a line block and signal block. The maintenance window is slated to occur between 12.25 a.m. and 2.25 a.m., leading to the cancellation of EMU train services during these hours.

Full Cancellations:
1. The Chennai Beach-Tambaram EMU local, departing from Chennai Beach at 11.59 p.m., will be fully canceled on the following dates: October 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, and on November 1, 2, and 3.
2. The Tambaram-Chennai Beach EMU local, departing from Tambaram at 11.40 p.m., will also be fully canceled on the same dates.
3. The Chennai Beach-Tambaram EMU local, departing from Chennai Beach at 11.59 p.m., will be canceled on October 29.
4. The Tambaram - Chennai Beach EMU local, leaving Tambaram at 11.35 p.m., will also be fully canceled on October 29, as mentioned in the press release.
