Novel way of creating awareness in Chennai yesterday grabbed many eyeballs!!

The traffic police in Chennai distributed ladoo to the drivers as well as the pillion riders who wore helmets. This was mainly done to motivate and encourage them.
It is known to us that not only the drivers of the 2 wheelers but also the pillion riders must compulsorily wear the helmets. Point is that the pillion riders mostly don`t wear helmets.
As a result, the traffic police personnel have been intensifying penalties to the violators from time to time. In addition, the traffic police personnel have been conducting awareness programmes about safe travel by wearing helmets etc.
On Tuesday, an awareness programme was conducted under the leadership of traffic police inspector Mr. Pandivelu at the traffic signal near the police commissioner`s office in Vepery in Chennai. Artists dressed as cartoon characters made their presence felt and they created awareness regarding helmets. At that time, the traffic police personnel distributed ladoos for those drivers and pillion riders wearing helmets.
