In future, don`t be surprised if you come across a new industrial park on 1724 acres of land in Dharmapuri district!!
It is now said that SIPCOT of State Industries Promotion Corporation of TN has received an environmental clearance or green clearance from the Union Ministry for Environment, Forest and Climate Change or MoEFCC for setting up a new industrial park in Dharmapuri district.
A letter was sent by MoEFCC to SIPCOT MD regarding the approval. It was mentioned that the dept has considered the proposal based on the recommendation of the expert appraisal committee. It added that the environmental clearance or EC has been granted for the development of an industrial park over 1724.56 acres at Adhagapadi village of Dharmapuri taluk, Adhiyamankottai, Thadangam and Balajangamanahalli villages of Nallampalli taluk belonging to Dharmapuri district.
It was later mentioned by a senior officer that the production units of EV cars and scooters were present in Bargur and Hosur in Krishnagiri district near the proposed industrial park site. Hence, this project would be attractive and viable.
In the construction phase about 250 persons would get jobs and once the industrial park starts to function 18300 people would get jobs here. Out of 18300 jobs, 16470 would be direct jobs and the rest 1830 would be indirect jobs. About 10% of jobs would be set aside for qualified persons from the families who provided land for the project. The industrial park would be set up at a cost of Rs 462 cr.
