Those who frequently visit the parks in Chennai have now got a reason to rejoice!!
The news that has come out now is that GCC has floated a tender for Rs 46 crores to restore and maintain more than 500 parks in all the 3 regions in Chennai.
At an estimated cost of Rs 8.978 cr, as many as 122 parks belonging to north Chennai would be maintained under the package 1. In the same way Rs 18.49 cr and Rs 18.52 crores have been allocated for the maintenance and upkeep of 215 and 258 parks in the central and southern part of Chennai under the package 2 and package 3. Important information is that 2nd January is the last date for submitting the tender documentation.
Pre-bid meeting details:
Today, 23rd December, a pre-bid meeting would take place in the office of the superintendent engineer of parks and playgrounds at the headquarters of Chennai Corporation.
Mass cleaning of parks and playgrounds present in Chennai has been intensified now by the local body. It is learnt that after the recent heavy rains due to the Cyclone Fengel the zonal level officials have been asked to make a list of damaged properties. They would be rectified soon.
