Spreading cheers and positivity by Chennai MOP Vaishnav College students at Govt Omandurar Medical College Hospital!!
If you happen to visit the famous Government Medical College at Omandurar Estate in Chennai, you will come across some sensational painting work especially in the paediatric wards!! The wall paintings have not been done by some famous artists etc. Any guesses who has done that actually?
As many as 35 students studying visual communications in MOP Vaishnav College for Women in Chennai have painted the paediatric wards in this medical college hospital in just 4 days. It is worth mentioning here that this painting work was a part of an annual extension programme.
The children`s wards or paediatric wards in this medical college hospital have been painted by these students and they have turned the plain looking walls into vibrant landscapes with animals, letters and whimsical characters etc. By this, the kids who are getting treatment here would get a fantastic positive environment.
The painting work has impressed many doctors here and they have spoken highly and expressed their gratitude for these MOP Vaishnav College students.
It was mentioned by Dr. Arthi, paediatrician that students have come all the way to paint and that was superb. She added that it was nice to see young students showing their creativity in such a meaningful way.
Truth is that for many students it was the first experience regarding painting on the walls. This was according to a second year visual communication student. She spoke about how there was some doubt initially regarding how the outcome would be but it was amazing.
