ASIAs FIRST ever GHC or Global Hyper loop Competition 2025 by IIT-Madras!!
On Friday, 21st February 2025, Indian Institute of Technology Madras or IITM inaugurated GHC or Global Hyper loop Competition 2025 at Discovery, IITM satellite campus in Thaiyur. Till 25th of February, the competition would take place. This is Asia`s first international hyper loop competition.
It was brought to light by a press release from IITM that the event would host 150 industry delegates from all over the world from mobility, research and hyper loop centres. The event would be supported by Ansys, SAE India and IITM Pravartak.
India to become a leader in transportation tech:
It was later explained by Mr. Pankaj Sharma, principal executive director of Railway Board that this event would not only be the celebration of innovation but would also be a testament of how India has been emerging as a leader in transportation technology.
IITM director Mr. V. Kamakoti spoke about how in the future there would be very fast hyper loop connectivity across important destinations in India. He added that the key aim of the event was to showcase hyper loop concepts across the world. This would encourage transformative spirit among youngsters in the transportation field.
The three primary categories of the event would be
Pod demonstration:
Here, functional hyper loop and pod prototypes would be showcased by pod demonstration.
Hyperloop innoquest:
Hyperloop technology and implementation would be explored and it is a case study challenge.
Designx:
It is a platform for teams to present innovative hyper loop designs.
