The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) plans to renovate the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex at a cost of ₹10 crore. The project, currently at the tender stage, will be completed within eight months after site handover.
Renovation works include painting and repairing the compound wall, cycle stand, RO water stand, and market management office. New lighting, including high-mast lights and LED floodlights, will be installed. Three arches will also be constructed.
Additionally, CMDA is planning a road repair project around the market, with tenders in progress.
