Chennai Central Metro to Get a Permanent Book Park by April
A large permanent book park is set to open at the Chennai Central Metro Station by the end of April, Metro Railway officials announced.
As metro trains play a crucial role in easing traffic congestion in Chennai, the Metro Railway administration continues to introduce initiatives aimed at enhancing passenger facilities and increasing footfall.
As part of these efforts, a permanent book park will be established in the subway area of Chennai Central Metro Station, catering to book lovers across the city.
According to Metro officials, the book park will feature over 50 publishers and booksellers showcasing a wide variety of titles. The facility will include 70 bookshelves, reading tables with comfortable seating, and a cafeteria to create a relaxed reading atmosphere. Additionally, books will be sold at a 10% discount, and popular titles from well-known publishers will be available.
The book park is expected to be inaugurated on April 23, coinciding with World Book Day.
