Amma Unavagam the budget restaurants begun by the Chennai Corporation in the city are planning to commission similar restaurant at The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital which receives the largest number of patients from across the State, has 2,722 beds and they are permanently occupied. On an average, the hospital receives around 10,000 visitors who come to see their relatives or friends. This Amma Unavagam will have more facilities than the other canteens. There will be food in the morning, afternoon and night. All the works connected with this restaurant is over and is ready to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
