American Consulate in Chennai organizes International Student Network (ISN) expo

Recently the American Consulate in Chennai had organized International Student Network (ISN) expo. The expo, which saw about 18 different American universities participating, also saw a range of seminars and events on education opportunities in the US.
The expo saw some of the most prestigious names in the education scene in the US, including the Drexel University, Illinois Institute of Technology and University of San Francisco. Around 150 students registered for the event, in addition to parents and others.
The highlight of this year’s event was the topic of funding, especially merit-based scholarships that the universities were awarding. Students were asked to come with their scores, transcripts, report cards and other details. They were then given details of areas in which funding was available.
Merit-based scholarships on offer ranged from $10,000 dollars to full tuition fee for the duration of the study program. This event was supported by US Department of Commerce at the US Consulate in Chennai. Students also attended seminars on higher education in the US, complete with details on selecting universities, visa processing and part-time jobs.
