As a responsible parent, you may have an eye on your kid’s health when at home, but how would you ensure safety, security and healthy being during the school hours of the child? That’s practically not possible, but the scenario is now changed.

School Health and Emergency Care System (SHECS), developed by Dr. Madhu Purushothaman, a Chennai based pediatrician and advisor at MEDSENSE is an initiative made to deal with emergency situations that arises in schools. This system aims at providing safe, timely and reliable way of health and emergency care to the students.

The system has well trained and experienced nurses functioning at the school premises. “The station has a doctor on call and a bicycle ambulance. Any student with physical ailment or complaint can approach the nurse. The nurse would perform the necessary first aid procedure immediately,” said the doctor. Additionally, exclusive software is installed at the station that lets the nurse pass on the information about child’s sickness to his/her parents. Intimations will also be done through e-mail and SMS.
