78 Crores worth Renovation Work- 4 Main Roads will get Glossy Look in Chennai

Four major roads in Chennai will soon get a ‘top-notch’ glossy appearance at a cost of Rs.78 Crore.
As part of the first phase, the Chennai Corporation has a blue print to renovate four main roads including Dr Ambedkar Salai and Ashok Nagar 1st, 4th and 11th Avenues.As for as now, we have found thirty such roads. If we could do a fantastic work in these four roads, then sure government will nod its head for further renovation work, stated by the corporation official.
A stretch of 3.2 km will be roofed under the first phase. In addition to the road work, street furniture’s will be getting placed along with the footpaths.Road side self-service tea and coffee stall hawkers have been arranged in these new roads. Concrete Spaces painted with different colors has been allotted for the vehicle parking.
We have called out for tenders and anticipating only big players with international experienced parties, said the Corporation official.
The storm water drains will be framed as per the European style with vertical gratings and slits to prevent water stagnation. Special separate channels for telephone, internet services and EB cables will be part of the renovation work, stated by engineering department officials.
