Arriving New Bridge Connecting T.Nagar & Parry’s Corner- Shopping Hub Lovers!

The State government has now invited bids from companies for preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the construction of bridges connecting T.Nagar and the Parry’s Corner.

These bridges will be of similar type to the foot over bridges seen in the railway stations, as it might benefit the pedestrians to walk without struggling in the traffic congestion.

Two years back, the Chennai Corporation nod its head for two kind of skywalk project include: 
  • From Mambalam railway station to T. Nagar bus terminus - benefit traders and people visiting the shopping hubs.
  • From Parry’s Corner to Fort railway station - Benefit to litigants and advocates on their way to Madras High Court.
And now, the TamilNadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited invites the tender for the preparing the DPRs for these two projects.

The skywalk will stretch for about 600m and 1 KM and it cost for Rs. 10 Crore. Main purpose of these skywalks is to reduce the pedestrian’s traffic congestion, stated by the TNUIFSL officials.

Also, the escalators have been proposed for pedestrians. Travelers can perch at both Fort and Mambalam stations and can stretch to the skywalks soon after get off from trains.
