The Chennai city police has involved in reaching out the Beat book system, generally termed as ‘Patta Book’ to the apartment complexes in order to get hold of communities. So as to ensure a better relationship with the residents, a team of beat officers will has been arranged to visit the location every day and to perform the preliminary inspections of the premises.
This is a tentative proposal, to fetch people nearer to police personnel of their relevant jurisdiction and consecutively, augment law and order implementations and crime deterrence’s, said S. George, Commissioner of Police on Thursday.
The beat patrol policemen riding on motorcycles will set up contact with main people in residential complexes, educational institutions, hotels and other business organizations. The current patta book system wraps over 10 locations under a police station whilst the new system will conceal almost 90 spots, he added.
Current patta book system covers only all banks, ATM cabins and other essential enterprises across the city.
Residential association’s entailing a police patta book sustained on their premises can drop a line to their relevant police stations with a written application.
The application will be examined and a patta book will be sited to record every day or regular visits to the mentioned location, police officials added.
