Tamil Nadu government has announced that Bengal-gram will be sold at Rs. 110/- per kg in cooperative stores.
A Tamil Nadu government press release informs that import order of 500 Tons of Bengal-gram has reached Chennai. After converting into Bengal-gram, this will be sold at Rs. 55/- for 0.5 kg and Rs. 110/- for 1 kg.
91 government stores including TUCS, Chinthamani, and Amudham will start selling Bengal-gram from 1st November.
The press release also informs that Bengal-gram and black-gram will continue to be sold at Rs. 30/- per kg in ration shops. Palm oil will be sold at Rs. 25/- per litre.
The press release mentions that this action will facilitate reduction in price of Bengal-gram in the open market.
