CMDA gets new CEO

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, after about 3 years, has appointed a full time Chief Executive Officer. IAS officer Madhivanan is appointed for this position. In CMDA, in positions like Vice Presidennt, secretary and president posts are filled by IAS officials. Of these, the Secretary position is appointed with IAS official now. During 2011, there was no vice president appointed for vice president post.
The position had been taken care of by housing secretary and secretary of urban development department. Likewise, Kannusamy who was the chief executive officer got retired three years ago. Following this, there had been no official being appointed. Later, Kurala was appointed for this post. After a few months he was transferred to some other department. In spite of this, he also worked as the CEO of CMDA in addition to his post in the other department.
At this juncture, Madhivanan got appointed as the CEO of CMDA, say public sector department sources. Orders for the same were given. Madhivanan had been working as the collector of Thiruvarur distruct. This has given rise to a question about who is the next collector of Thiruvalur. As there is no official announcement made regarding this, there prevails a commotion in this regard.
