World Physiotherapy Day Celebration 2022: Saveetha College of Physiotherapy

Saveetha College of Physiotherapy organized physiotherapy day celebration-2022 with the theme Osteoarthritis and the Role of physiotherapy. The college authorities organized this event with the vision of showcasing student�s talents and promoting physiotherapy. More than 800 students participated in the event for 4 days, the celebration commenced from 5th September 2022, with the grand launch of the world physiotherapy day celebration banner following this, Service events such as Physiotherapy Camp for �Osteoarthritis� and Tree Sapling Plantation were conducted at Saveetha Rural and Urban Health Centers (Mappedu & Thirumazhisai). About 200 old aged people benefited from the free OA Screening and Management Camp and 300 saplings were planted to mark the 30 years of excellence of Saveetha College of Physiotherapy.
On 7th September 2022 the event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr.C.Sivaji, in the presence of Dr.Sheeja Varghese, Registrar-SIMATS, Dr.A.Jagatheesan, Principal, Dr.S.Prathap, Vice-Princiapl, Dr.A.Kumaresan Organizing Secretary and special invitee Dr. Dhanajeyan Jayavel, Managing Director of Spectrum Physio Pvt.Ltd, Bangalore and General Secretary of Bangalore Physiotherapist Network. More than 300 students participated in Competitive events like Innovative physiotherapy plans on OA management, Poetry, Rangoli, Face painting, Mehandi, Best out of waste, Pencil sketch, Quiz, Dance, Fashion show, Addzap and Scientific session with paper & poster presentations were conducted. Dr. Dhanajeyan gave key note address on role of physiotherapy in osteoarthritis and highlighted the theme of world physiotherapy day. Student�s cultural and scientific completions were scheduled for two days. Dr. N.M.Veeraiyan, Chancellor, SIMATS and Dr.Deepak Nallaswamy, Director conveyed their wishes to the physiotherapists around the world on this special occasion.
