Chennai Schools Shut on November 12 Due to Intense Rainfall

Following overnight rains, Chennai District Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade has declared a holiday for schools on Tuesday.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert across several districts: 12 districts on Nov 12, 17 districts on Nov 13, 27 districts on Nov 14, and 25 districts on Nov 15. Chennai, along with Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpet, may experience heavy rainfall (6-12 cm) until Nov 15, due to a low-pressure area moving from the Bay of Bengal toward Tamil Nadu/Sri Lanka.
Over the next 48 hours, the city is expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, with temperatures between 25°C and 33°C.
