About one lakh fishermen in Kasimedu Fishing harbor, along with the labors of the Perambur and Tiruvottiyur and the residents of Kolathur will be the deciding authority of the candidates in the North Chennai parliament constituency.
Lot of positive changes have been seen presently including widened roads,
anticipating new bridges connecting Ennore and a lot more, said Nandakumar a
representative of the fishermen group cluing his poise headed for AIADMK.
Deficient of roads and transport, with over-crowded population were the
imperative issues prevailing among the residents of the north Chennai. We
always feel the sense of neglection, as our constituency embraces labors and

Many ongoing projects which have been initiated in 2001 are close to its end, and these mission will address the hub problems including transport and pollution that shapes this constituency, said the former speaker and AIADMK leader D Jayakumar.For the last six months, the AIADMK has cautiously fostered the fishing community by heralding several schemes, said V Suresh of People`s Union for Civil Liberties.
The fisher folks cover about only 8% of the electorate, when compared to more than 80% has been from the labor force.
