It seems the stage is all set got the Tamil Film Superstar Rajinikanth to make a foray into politics - he is set to announce the formation of his party most probably on his birthday, 12th December.
Reliable sources inform he does not intend to join any other existing political parties, including the BJP and is intent on starting his own party. The party approach is likely to be neither left nor right oriented but will be centrist.
The superstar first hinted at his intention last August. While addressing a large gathering of his fans, he said that that the existing system is corrupt and we all need to work together to change it. He said that there was nothing wrong in his attempt to improve the lives of his huge collection of fans who helped him to his current status as a superstar.
The point to note here is the other megastar of the Tamil films, the super-actor Kamal Haasan, had informed in September that he would be ready to join hands with Rajnikanth if he joins politics.
History of the Tamil Nadu politics records that the entry of another superstar in politics is nothing new – MGR, Jayalalithaa, and Karunanidhi stand as strong testimonies.
