Media cell to monitor paid news formed

District election officer Vikram Kapur on Tuesday said they have formed a media cell to monitor paid news in print and electronic media. “If a news item is found to be for or against a political party, it will be forwarded to the media cell and if the news is found to have been paid, the DIPR of the secretariat will estimate the cost. The cost would be added to the party’s poll code violation expenditure.”
