108 ambulance staff comes under the ambit of Election Commission

Emergency response service GVK-EMRI 108 has issued a 12-point circular delineating the code of conduct for its employees in view of the general elections. They have been instructed not to allow anyone other that the victim/patient and one attendant into the vehicle. Possessions found on an unknown victim must be handed over to the police and a signed receipt must be received. This will be later handed over to the patient or attendants.
 
Patient attendants must declare to the emergency technician the money they are carrying on their person. The technician must note it down in the patient record forms and get the attendant’s signature on the forms before disembarking from the vehicle.
 
The employees have been strictly advised against using any facility offered by any political party.
 
Only accredited employees would be allowed to accompany the election officers during the inspection of the vehicle, the circular states. The accredited workers will not allow anyone to handle any equipment or enter the driver’s cabin, while inside the vehicle.
