Moderate-heavy unseasonal rainfall across southern Tamil Nadu has brought down the temperatures by 2 degree to 3 degrees. As a result, the people got huge relief from the scorching heat during the daytime. It is now revealed that this pattern would be there till the first week of May month.

The IMD has mentioned that due to the sudden change in weather the south coastal region received rainfall in few places and at isolated places over the rest of southern regions. On Tuesday, Avudayarkoil in Pudukottai received a maximum rainfall of 10cm.

Information collected is that the neighbouring districts of Budalur in Thanjavur and Mandapam in Ramanathapuram received 7cm and 6cm of rain respectively.

It was later explained by the weather blogger Mr. Srikkanth that wind instability created by the trough was responsible for the rainfall all of a sudden. He spoke about how northern interior places would receive some rains when winds shift to the west. He concluded that in the next few days rainfall might occur in the Western Ghats also.

The maximum temperature went down by 2to 3 degrees Celsius in the isolated places across TN on 29th of April. This was as per a report from IMD. It mentioned that on 29th April maximum temperature also rose by 2 to 3 degrees in a few places. The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Karur Paramathi and it was 39 degrees Celsius. Puducherry and Karaikal areas were dry. There might be light to moderate rains until 5th May in a few places.
