Ward councillors have complained that civic authorities, including the GCC Commissioner, have not been meeting with them to address grievances in their areas. In response, Deputy Mayor M. Magesh Kumar urged officials to engage with the councillors and resolve their issues promptly.
DMK councillor R. Jagadeesan of Ward 62 expressed frustration over being unable to meet the Commissioner, who cited prior commitments. He also noted difficulties in accessing other officials at Ripon Building due to their busy schedules.
Deputy Mayor Kumar emphasized the need for regular meetings between Corporation officials and ward councillors. DMK floor leader N. Ramalingam requested the Mayor to ensure weekly meetings to prevent future issues.
Additionally, the Revenue department has submitted a letter seeking government approval to publish recommendations for vending and non-vending zones across all 15 zones in the official gazette.
